THE MAMA VAULT-New Monday Series!
IF YOU ARE IN THE TRENCHES OF RAISING YOUR KIDS, YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS.
Trust me. Read every word.
When I was a first-time mom of a six-month old, I called an older and wiser mom-friend with four kids of her own. I called because I could not get my screaming son to sleep. I was at my wit’s end. She instructed me to go put him in his bed, to chat with her for ten minutes, by which time she assured me he’d be fast asleep. Here’s one of the things she told me to distract me. She said very matter-of-factly, “You know, it’s perfectly legal to take your child and dangle them over the trash can as long as you don’t drop them in”. I remember there was a long pregnant pause on my end…the “wait…what?” kind of pause. Then, when I took off my mothering-is-serious-business hat, I burst out laughing at the absurdity of her words. Her humor was life to me that afternoon–she knew I needed it. And she was right. My son was asleep in a split second, no dangling over the garbage bin needed.
My friend is a road warrior of motherhood. Me too. There are millions of us. We raised our kids and the time has finally come.
We’re opening the MOMMY VAULT where we tucked away our most embarrassing mother moments, our worst mama fails and other crazy tales sure to resonate with you young mamas. We see you going nuts out there. We’re here to lighten things up. We’ll touch a few heartstrings along the way, shock you with our irreverence at times and we’ll try like heck to help you laugh over spilled coffee on your white shirt.
I’ll be telling my stories and retelling the stories friends are telling me.
We are older mamas encouraging younger mamas. We’re a sisterhood of motherhood–don’t even know what that means, but it sounds good.
THE MAMA VAULT is a special series only found here. You won’t want to miss a single story–told every Monday morning starting September 24th. Subscribe and like magic it will show up in your inbox. It’s easy to do right on this very page!
Hope you’ll come read along!
